The Golf Gurus of Myrtle Beach present the Second Annual Golf Fore Education Tournament to benefit North Myrtle Beach High School on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 at Long Bay Golf Club. The event is hosted by Sun Cruz Casino and Long Bay Golf Club, and features a four-man captain’s choice beginning with an 11 a.m. shotgun start and concluding with a post-round dinner and awards presentation.
Snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the day, and a raffle will be held for a wide assortment of prizes. Awards will be given to the first, second, third and last-place finishing teams, along with individual prizes for the closest-to-the-pin and longest drive winners.
Sun Cruz will also host a welcome reception on Friday, Feb. 6, 5:30 p.m., where hors d’oeuvres, drinks and gift bags will be provided and an optional gaming sail will follow.
Registration is $75 per player ($300 per team), with numerous sponsorship opportunities available. You can also purchase a $20 bonus player package that provides you with two “mulligans” and 10 raffle tickets. The tournament is allowing a maximum of eight mulligans per foursome if their bonus player packages are purchased in advance; otherwise, there is a six-mulligan limit per foursome if bought on the day of the event. There is no limit on the number of raffle tickets purchased.
Last year’s inaugural tourney raised more than $5,000 to benefit North Myrtle Beach High School students. For entry forms or more information, contact the Golf Gurus at 843-399-8880 or via e-mail at info@golfdepartment.com.
