Now through Monday at 6th Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard, expect plenty of sunshine, temps in the low- to mid-80s, and tape measures galore. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/201/523239245_b485c13a35.jpg
And while professional sand sculptors scurry through the weekend in their attempt to mark this year's Sun Fun Festival with a new entry into the Guinness Book of World Records, you can get a front-row seat to all the action at one of the Grand Strand's newest luxury oceanfront venues.
Starting today and running throughout the Festival and all summer long, the Bay View Resort is offering up to 40-percent savings on nightly room rates, starting as low as $99.71. Bay View features an indoor pool, lazy river, whirlpool, kiddie pool with mushroom waterfall and children's oceanfront splash deck. Its vantage point offers fabulous views of sunsets over the city and sunrises over the ocean, and when darkness falls sandcastle views give way to the awesome spectacle of a full moon rising over the Atlantic. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/194/522563001_39622115bc.jpg

For the past few days I’ve been watching this amazing feat unfold. I used to think ice sculpture was beautiful; you’ve got to see this sandcastle. Thank you Bay View Resort for working with the Sun Fun people and bringing this artistic marvel to Myrtle Beach.
Twice a day I have to take my kids by to see what kind of progress has been made. Good luck on setting a new record.
Thanks for the link - I was looking for the Sun Fun Events Calendar and you made it easy to find!
