Many of Myrtle Beach's 14 million annual visitors find their way to Sea Captain's House, too. This family-friendly restaurant features ocean views from every dining room, a children's menu as well as live entertainment on the patio bar during the summer months. Whether you're looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner, Sea Captain's House does not disappoint.
Breakfast!
Several breakfast favorites grace the Sea Captain's House breakfast menu, but the two breakfast specialties are the Crab Cake Benedict and the Seafarer's Omelet.
Executive Chef Phillip Radcliffe and his team took great delight in putting their own flair to some standard breakfast entrees. The Crab Cake Benedict comes with eggs, Atlantic Blue Crab cakes, fried green tomato and the English muffin. The fried green tomato's flavor works nicely with the crab cake and the sauce.
The Seafarer's Omelet is packed with shrimp, crab, Monterrey Jack cheese, mushrooms and scallions. A true delight for any seafood lover!
Lunch!
Upon being seated, each table receives a fresh, steaming hot basket of hushpuppies. This southern tradition of having hushpuppies with seafood faithfully continues at Sea Captain's House. Be careful not to load up on those and ruin your lunch.
Sea Captain's House offers a daily lunch feature as well as a quiche of the day. The "lunch specials" are worth exploring. The Sunday lunch feature includes dessert for $13, and is the only day that offers dessert with the daily feature.
You can't come to Sea Captain's House and not try a cup or bowl of the She Crab Soup with sherry. It's an absolutely amazing tribute to one of America's favorite soups!
Whether looking for a salad, sandwich or something in between, Sea Captain's House has a lunch item that fits your taste. Sandwiches include the Atlantic Blue Crab Cake, Grilled Chicken with Jack Cheese, Roast Chicken Sandwich and a Bacon-Brie Burger.
A salad favorite among locals is the Chicken Salad and Fruit, the Shrimp Salad or the Crab Salad. Many diners opt not to choose a favorite and simply order the Tri-Salad Sampler, which includes a serving of each salad and fresh fruit.
The Avocado Sea Fare Salad is another salad with the seafood lover in mind. There's Atlantic Blue Crab, avocado, and chilled shrimp on a bed of lettuce.
The Low Country Crab Casserole is a true luncheon treat. It's a creamy mixture of crab, eggs, and chives baked in an individual casserole dish. Fabulous!
Dinner!
As far as this writer is concerned, there is one "must-have" appetizer on the Sea Captain's House menu, and that's the Blackened Sea Scallops and Grits. Spicy pan-blackened sea scallops on cheddar cheese grits and crispy fried leeks will delight your entire table as an appetizer or small plate dinner.
The Sea Island Shrimp is another locals' favorite with fresh shrimp marinated in olive oil, capers and onion.
Sea Captain's House brings out the WOW when it comes to a fried seafood platter. This lightly battered dish includes fried shrimp, scallops, flounder and oysters with a side of steamed vegetables. I was truly impressed with the lightness of the batter and that the seafood was not "over fried." It's easy to see (and taste) the reasons that this is a favorite on the menu! A senior portion is available with this dish as well.
The Pecan-Crusted Grouper is sautéed fresh grouper, pecan crust and a citrus beurre blanc sauce.
The Shrimp-Scallop Pasta comes with broiled shrimp, red peppers, asparagus, and gruyere cheese. Fabulous!
The Captain's Seafood Muddle is one of Sea Captain's signature dishes. Sautéed shrimp, fish, scallops, clams, mussels, saffron tomato broth, bacon, potatoes and celery delightfully come together to make the Seafood Muddle a must-try entrée!
There are non-seafood dinner entrees on the menu as well. One such option includes the Grilled Pork Chops - two bone-in pork chops with seasonal fruit chutney and side item.
Another item is the sautéed chicken breast with shiitake mushrooms, capers, shallots, and lemon butter.
Desserts!

Private dining is available in the off-season. The culinary staff strives to accommodate most special requests when it comes to customizing an entrée. Catering is also available for family reunions, large parties or small gatherings.
I HAVE BEEN RUNNING GOLF & LEISURE TRIPS TO M.B. FOR 31 YEARS, AND THIS IS THE BEST RESTAURANT AROUND - NOT ONLY THE FOOD, BUT THE HELP IS THE BEST.
Tnhaks for the insight. It brings light into the dark!
