Bike Week Hot Spots

Part 1: Touristy Locations

So each year hoards of bike lovers flock to Myrtle Beach to party like rock stars while parading around their beloved Bikes. This series of blogs designed to provide a “map” of Myrtle Beach Bike Week locations frequented by tourists and locals alike. So for the “popular hotspots” tourists frequent check out:

Suck Bang Blow.
Murrell’s Inlet, Garden City
As controversial as their names suggests Suck Bang Blow is always a hot spot and “must visit” on the itinerary of EVERY Biker’s trip. At any given point in time you can find at least 3 dozen bikes idling out front and even more people traversing the grounds. With vendors selling anything and everything a biker could possibly want or need. With two locations SBB(as the locals call it) has many “delightful” though not exactly “family-orientated” activities to keep bikers entertained. With bands such as “Highway to Hell” and “Rebel Son someone is always rocking here! If music isn’t your thing than try either a meet and greet with Ron Jeremy or UFC fighters. Trust me between these two locations there’s never a dull moment. And if there is….just check out one of the wholesome “contests” where everything is a competition from beer bellies to the highly acclaimed wet-shirts. SBB is definitely the place to be if you are looking for skin, though trust me you won’t always like what you see. Like a car accident though it’s often hard to pull yourself away. Scantily clad females abound, but so do their 300lb tattooed boyfriends. SBB during bike week is the reason that what happens in Myrtle Beach, stays in Myrtle Beach!

The Dog House
Murrell’s Inlet, North Myrtle
One of the best places to parade your bike around you’ll find a parking lot full of beauties to peruse. They offer music, booze and bikes. Unfortunately though this bar is a bike week hotspot but there really isn’t much going on here on the South End. Plus I’ve often heard it’s the best place to get your bike stolen: so keep an eye out. Personally I’d head on up to North Myrtle to the other “Dog House” they have a little more going on. With a live stage set up outside, vendors and, of course still vast quantities of alcohol and beautiful bikes. Plus this gives you a chance to hop on your bike and make the Mecca up to North Myrtle. As an added bonus I once saw a drunken midget riding a tricycle here. You can’t put a price tag on that!

HB Spokes
Longs
Now this bar is a far trek from the normal frenzy in Myrtle Beach but you are here to ride after all right? With outdoor decks on the scenic Waccamaw River, you can imagine what tranquility and peace this type of setting normally offers. This week however the air is filled with live acts, rockin’ music and of course some idiot ruining their bike in the burnout pit. Worth the drive and a great chance to get on your bike and cruise on up for a little day riding.

The Harley Store
North Myrtle, Myrtle Beach
Well this destination is pretty self-explanatory. It’s the Harley Store, so um, yeah there’s Harley stuff there. It contains all your Harley wants, needs, dreams and deepest desires. Browse the bikes, gear and souvenirs. Though always a great place to visit and peruse, the Harley Store during bike week is running amuck with outside venders making this a guaranteed stop for Harley and non-Harley lover’s alike. Inside you see the ® merchandise and outside every possible biker item you can imagine—and some I’m sure you wish you never did

Jammin’ Leather
Myrtle Beach
More than just a mere leather store there is always something happening here! A brand new location is opening in Surfside and between the two there is ALWAYS something going on. With contests galore bikers can compare everything from tattoos and bikini’s to beer bellies and bikes—spectators won’t be disappointed. You truly can’t go wrong with beer and leather, plus with specials running throughout Bike week you’ll be sure to take something home!
