Bringing the family to Myrtle Beach? Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort is certified for you

It's peak golf season in Myrtle Beach, which means you'll find more groups of men running around golf courses and bars than families. But school will be out soon and families will be packing the Grand Strand once more. If you are a family with golf on the itinerary, there is one certified area resort for you according to Golf for Women Magazine's new Top 25 Family Golf Resorts (leave it to those sensitive motherly figures to be in search of what's best for the clan). It's Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort south of Myrtle Beach on Pawleys Island. One of it's three golf courses, Willbrook Plantation, has already been certified as "women friendly" by Golf for Women. But it's also one of my favorite courses in the area (and I ain't no girlie-mon). I like Willbrook because it's not overly penal like Long Bay, Pawleys Plantation or True Blue, but not shorter and easier like Waterway Hills or Myrtlewood either. River Club and Litchfield Country Club are also in the same complex. All these courses are playable and laid back. You won't get stuffy attitudes for bringing family. The magazine also gives the resort props for letting kids play free after 3 p.m. - as well as nearby activities including Surfside Beach, the Pool and Play Plaza, tennis and nearby go-carts and mini golf. It's also in a neck of the Grand Strand that is isn't infested with strip clubs and rowdy bars compared to the main drag.

You could plan an entire golf trip around the Pawleys Island area alone and come away from it extremely satisfied.  Litchfield is at the heart of it all and really the best choice to stay & play that area.
