Can-Am Days Are Here!

Can-Am Days are here again in Myrtle Beach. For those of you who are unaware of such an event let me explain. As the beautiful Myrtle Beach spring weather creeps in so does our appreciation for our much loved, and much colder Northern neighbors. We welcome them into Myrtle Beach with open arms, wide open beaches and what they love best—no snow! So Welcome Canada to the 2008 Canadian-American Days!   As a token of our affinity for one another there’s lots of great events being hosted here in Myrtle Beach so despite your nationality take some time out to enjoy the great events.

The fun kicks off on March 8th and rocks on through to March 16th and with this list of events, sponsors, and discounts you’ll hard pressed to not participate. If the jitterbug bites check out Studebaker’s where you can enter into one of the many National Shag Dance competitions. And of course, for the not so brave, you can always grab a chair and a cherry coke and enjoy the dancers bustin’ a move. Kids of all ages can enjoy the Huntington Beach State Park with various events such as a Kite fest, Can-Am Little Olympics, Taste of Murrell’s Inlet and various state sponsored nature learning activities.

Can-Am days are musical in nature featuring every kind imaginable—from the United States Air Force sportin’ a Blue Jazz ensemble to famous performers singing their hits old and new.   Early in the week Anne Murray takes the stage at the Alabama Theatre and belts out, “Day Dream Believer” and “What A Wonderful World”.  While Tom Jones follows later in the week bringing his legendary tight britches and billowy shirts to rock Myrtle Beach.   Fans young and old can relish in experiencing hits such as “What’s New Pussycat?” I’ll Never Fall In Love Again”, and “She’s A Lady.”

As the week winds down the excitement, and activities definitely do not. On March 13-15th Canadians and Myrtle Beachians alike can drool over the fancy, the fast, and the furious at the 2008 Run to the Sun Car Show.   And just as the fun is about to end the St. Patrick’s Day Festival completes the celebration! Beginning with a parade and festival in North Myrtle and going out with fireworks at Broadway at the Beach there’s fun and activities to fill an entire day! Of course at night the party is always happenin’ in Celebrity Square and with six clubs celebrating Canadian, American, and Irish culture you know this weekend is no exception. Enjoy the music, atmosphere and tasty adult beverages for there’s always something to do at Broadway.

As you can see there is something for everyone, for all ages, and from any country!

For more great events.
For great Canada discounts.

Are there any banks that exchange Canadian $$ at par during Can/Am week?
