Coastal Uncorked Officially Announced

The logo was officially unveiled and a few details were shared about Coastal Uncorked, a new food and wine festival coming to Myrtle Beach in May 2010. At a press conference held Monday afternoon at the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, Heidi Vukov, owner of Croissants Bistro & Bakery in Myrtle Beach, said Coastal Uncorked is a weeklong festival scheduled for May 17-23.
The event will include a "Restaurant Week" when area restaurants will each serve three-course prix fixe meals for $20.10; beer and wine tastings with trolley service; a golf tournament at Pine Lakes Country Club with food and/or beverage stations at every other hole; live entertainment at The Market Common with grilling demonstrations; a cake decorating competition; and a Food Fight Competition and Gala that includes an "Iron Chef-style competition."
The event is non-profit, and proceeds will benefit the marketing of future events, the Horry-Georgetown Technical College culinary arts program, the hospitality management program at Coastal Carolina University, and another charity that provides food for people who need it.
