Crown Park, Tradition Make “Myrtle Beach Golf Insider Top 25” Debut

Crown Park Golf Course, a Robbie Byers track in Longs known for its pine forest seclusion and undulating TifEagle greens; and Tradition Golf Club, a Ron Garl design honored in 2000 as “Golf Course of the Year” by the South Carolina Golf Course Owners Association, make their first appearance on the “Myrtle Beach Golf Insider Top 25” in the newly released rankings for August 2010, the Web site announced Monday.

Crown Park debuts at No. 20, while Tradition cracks the list two spots down at No. 22.

The rankings are determined by golfers who submit their post-play reviews for publication on the Golf Insider’s Web site, www.MBGolfInsider.com. They are based on the aggregate scores of each participating golfer’s review, where golfers rate on a 10-point scale their course experience in each of six categories: greens, fairways, tees, pro shop, grill and staff.

As Dunes Golf & Beach Club maintains its spot atop the rankings for the third consecutive month, TPC of Myrtle Beach surges to the No. 2 position after making its top 5 debut in July. Thistle Golf Club, Tiger’s Eye Golf Links and Caledonia Golf & Fish Club round out the top 5 for August.

The complete Top 25 for this month was completed on August 16, with scoring ties separated by total number of reviews for each course (indicated in parentheses). The last figure in each listing indicates the change in ranking since last month:
