Myrtle Beach is a food lover's paradise with more than 1,000 restaurants in the area. This October, residents and visitors get an opportunity to enjoy more than 50 of the seaside resort town's most popular eateries at the 28th Annual Taste of the Town, set for Tuesday, Oct. 11 4-10 p.m. at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
Restaurants are selected to gather at the Convention Center and provide samples of culinary delights for minimal prices. The event gives area chefs a chance to showcase their talents and creativity, and there's no better place for new restaurants to get noticed. Filling up on goodies is for a great cause, as all proceeds from the event benefit the St. Andrew Catholic School.
This year's highlights include:
* More than 50 area restaurants offering "Tapas-style" servings of appetizers, entrees & desserts
* Judges' awards presented for Best Entree, Best Dessert, and Best Booth Design
* People's & Kids' Choice Awards presented for Favorite Restaurant
* A variety of live performances for all ages
* Back by popular demand - The Vineyard wine patio and Budweiser Autumn Ale House
* Kids Zone to feature a rock climbing wall and more
Advance admission tickets are $5, and $6 at the door. Ages 14 & under are admitted free. Food tickets are $1 each, and sold at the event.
