Food + Arts + Music + Entertainment = New Myrtle Beach Festival!

Food + Arts + Music + Entertainment = New Myrtle Beach Festival!

The 1st Annual F.A.M.E. (Food, Arts, Music & Entertainment) Festival will be held this Saturday, April 24th, 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on historic Broadway Street between 4th and 6th Avenues North in downtown Myrtle Beach.

Admission is free and attendees can purchase all types of art, from paintings and photographs to pottery, sculpture, jewelry and more. All pieces are originals from local artists who will be there to discuss their work with attendees.

Throughout the event, the Main Stage at 5th Avenue North and Broadway offers the finest in local and nationally recognized talent, including musicians, vocalists, dancers and more. Gabbie Rae, My Buddy Todd and Area 51 are scheduled to perform, and the Festival will also feature a F.A.M.E. Idol Showcase.

Event organizers recognized a unique opportunity to blend many forms of art together with food, drink and family fun on a beautiful spring day in Downtown Myrtle Beach. “We'll be featuring local restaurateurs with food from the Lowcountry to the Mediterranean and places in between, with Gordon Biersch Brewery serving beer and wine in the garden,” said Mike Saffa, Habibi's Cafe and Market and F.A.M.E. Food Co-chair.

Also, a children’s area will feature games, art, fire truck demonstrations, face painting, balloon fun and much more.

F.A.M.E. is made possible through the support of area business owners, volunteers, neighbors, sponsors and the Horry County Arts and Cultural Council, Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Redevelopment Corporation, Community Appearance Board, City of Myrtle Beach staff including Mayor John Rhodes, and Myrtle Beach City Council.

Festival proceeds will be donated back into the Myrtle Beach community. More details and updates are available at http://myrtlebeachfamefestival.com, and at the F.A.M.E. Festival’s Facebook fan page.
