Holiday Weekend Brings Unique Troop Salute

Among the many Independence Day weekend celebrations was a unique opportunity to salute our troops, in the form of a beachfront flyover from a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster on Sunday afternoon.

Beachgoers packed the shore from North Myrtle Beach to Pawleys Island – saluting, waving flags and cheering as the plane cruised by at low altitude, accompanied by a crew filming the beach crowds to show the troops overseas.
