Superstar country music artist John Michael Montgomery headlines the entertainment at this year’s Beach Boogie & BBQ Festival, with a free concert to be held Friday, Aug. 29, 8 p.m. along Farrow Parkway at The Market Common.
Montgomery has charted some 30 singles on the Billboard country lists over the years, including seven number-one hits and country singles of the year “I Swear” (1994) and “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)” (1995).
Here’s Montgomery performing one of his more recent hits, “Letters from Home”:
The Montgomery concert highlights a two-day festival that includes celebrity “meet & greets,” cooking and eating contests (including the International Federation of Competitive Eating BBQ Sandwich Eating contest, won last year by world hot dog-eating king Joey Chestnut), and a big-screen viewing of the Clemson-Alabama football game at 8 p.m. on Aug. 30.
