"It's a one-stop shop, really," said Iredell. "Coming to these is a great way to find a club to fit your swing, and pick up some quick tips to help your game."
Iredell was among an estimated 140 golfers who participated in the April 16 clinic at Litchfield Country Club - testing the latest offerings from Callaway and Nike, buying discounted merchandise and taking advantage of the free lessons and tips being offered on site by Litchfield staff.
Merchandise offerings and free lessons are new to the "Launch Your Game" series this year, and Litchfield head pro Christa Bodensteiner has been gratified by the positive reception. "That's one of the best things we've done, adding the free lessons this year," said Bodensteiner. "That's been a huge hit, because everyone wants just a little tip here and there."
And when she gauges participants' reactions to the entire slate of what's being offering through these clinics, Bodensteiner adds, "People are floored. They just can't believe we're doing all this for free. Many folks who have dropped by in years past are not only coming back, but sticking around for 45 minutes, and hour, even longer. They're taking full advantage of what we have to offer.
"We want everyone to enjoy the game of golf, so that they keep playing. We want to do everything we can to make sure they not only continue to play, but play well - and enjoy the game. And as long as 'Launch Your Game' is a way for us to help make all that possible, we'll continue to do this."
Ping and Cleveland are the featured manufacturers scheduled to be on hand for the final "Launch Your Game" clinic for this spring, set for this Friday, May 1, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Litchfield Country Club. Call 843-237-3411, ext. 1 for more information.
