The lead item in today’s MSNBC.com Golf Travel section is a feature article about “one of America’s most renowned golf destinations,” the Waccamaw Golf Trail.

The write-up includes a comprehensive overview of the appeal, history, courses and accommodations that give the Waccamaw Golf Trail its unique charm and niche within the golf travel community.

It also includes some interesting tidbits of which I was previously unaware, including this one:

"It's more of an upscale, Lowcountry vibe down here," said Kevin McGuire, head professional at Willbrook Plantation Golf Club, one of the several courses that is a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. "The courses here are full of live oak trees, flora and fauna."

Check out the article, and share with us your special experiences playing the Waccamaw Golf Trail!
