Myrtle Beach Bike Week
Part 2: Local Flavor.
When you tire of all the “famous” Biker hang outs try out the lesser known hot spots locals frequent daily! Here’s a mini guide to some of the best biker bars on the beach!
Murrell’s Inlet
Though situated right next door to the infamous Suck Bang Blow, this place maintains an identity of it’s own. A local hot spot year round for biker’s you can enjoy a seat in one of the many rocking chairs on the grounds or hang out on the porch. Not only can you buy fantastically amusing t-shirts and tank tops…I mean come on “The Beaver Bar” but owner and operator Leslye Beaver is really what makes this place fantastic. Treating the bike week visitors as she would her known and loved local drop ins; prices at her bar are always the same, with 2 dollar bottled beers. So check out the Beavers and watch the action of SBB, from the locals vantage point!
Johnny’s
Garden City
One of my favorite hang outs whether you snag a “living room” or are shakin’ it on the dance floor. Charlie Floyd, a local singing legend has the place rockin’ every Friday and Saturday. The left side of the bar boasts individual rooms each with a couch, television and all the conveniences of home…but not. The right side has the rockin’ dance floor, the sexy shot girls and a
good lookin’ bouncer. A great place to settle in for the night after a day of riding--to dance, sing and drink the night away. Oh and locals get the “Johnny” approval and ride their bikes in the front door and around the dance floor. Gotta love that!
Murphy’s Law
Myrtle Beach, Garden City
A great place for a cheap beer or some even cheaper oysters Murphy’s Law in Myrtle Beach is right up in the action. In Garden City Murphy’s is located right in front of Johnny’s and locals normally traverse between the two throughout the night. For added pleasure if sitting on the porch you can watch the clientele wandering in and out of The Pink Pony. Location, location, location.
Myrtle Beach
When the weather’s hot so is Iron Gate! Drink a beer at the outdoor bar while watching the biker’s cruise by on 17. Located right up the street from the Harley store this place is happenin’ as long as it doesn’t rain! Burnout pits, girls dancing on barrels and always packed full of bikers and drinkers alike!
Murrell’s Inlet
You gotta love the bar, and the woman behind it!! You never know what you will walk into in Marti’s, though if by chance you get to meet the owner “Marti” you know it’s gonna be a good night. Whether she’s grabbing customers with a vibrating glove or handing out “business cards” (you just have to go and see for yourself) any bar boasting a stripper pole has got to pique your curiosity. Music and Marti make this little hangout hot!!
Garden City
With a bar named Soft Tails you know it’s gonna be a biker hang out! Another great stop along the biker way with all the bar normals. Try a suck and blow shot!
Beer 30
Surfside
THE local biker hangout, though no one really knows why! Always a place full of bikers, drama and locals. Music is a kickin’, karaoke is a singin’ and beer is aflowin’! Just watch out for the windows occasionally someone gets thrown out of one!
