Myrtle Beach Boardwalk Named Among Top in U.S.
Travel and Leisure magazine, featured today on the Today Show on NBC, named the new Myrtle Beach boardwalk among the best in the U.S.
The Boardwalk, a 1.2-mile span running between the ocean and a myriad downtown Myrtle Beach hotels, restaurants and attractions, opened in May.
Travel and Leisure magazine chose the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade for its mix of leisure and entertainment. The boardwalk came in second on the list of 11 top boardwalks.
Nilou Motamed, the magazine's travel editor, said one must-see destination on along the boardwalk is the infamous Gay Dolphin gift shop, a Myrtle Beach landmark for more than 50 years.
Also on the list were Coney Island, N.Y.; Hollywood, Fla.; and Santa Cruz, Ca.
The boardwalk is located between the Second Avenue Pier and the 14th Avenue Pier and features three distinct sections that vary in length and shape.
