The Myrtle Beach National Company, one of the Myrtle Beach area's oldest, largest and most successful golf course ownership and management companies, last week announced that it has named Robert (Bob) J. Mauragas as president.
Since 2003, Mauragas has served in various golf management roles at Reynolds Plantation, located near Greensboro, Ga., most recently as its vice-president of golf operations where he was responsible for all golf-related activities within the 16,000-acre community including its 2,400 golf members and 250 golf employees. An accomplished executive leader and 25-year golf industry veteran, Mauragas has a proven track record of leading successful golf properties including a history of successfully managing golf facility operations, golf course construction, golf course maintenance, food & beverage, membership sales, strategic planning, and brand strategies.
Mauragas will report directly to Myrtle Beach National's Chief Executive Officer Matthew Brittain. His responsibilities will include leading the strategic direction of the company, direct oversight of the management team and guiding the financial growth of the company.
"We are thrilled to have found someone with Bob's experience and particularly his leadership skills," said Matthew Brittain, CEO, Myrtle Beach National Company. "Bob is a great fit for our company. His leadership is a welcome addition, particularly as we emerge from these tough economic times and continue to grow our company."
"The Myrtle Beach National Company is one of the most prestigious and successful golf and property management operations in the country and I am honored to become a part of it," said Mauragas. "I look forward to working with each portion of the business to ensure we are operating in an efficient and profitable way, so our guests can enjoy the best of everything Myrtle Beach National Company has to offer."
