U.S. News Media Group Monday released new travel destination rankings available online at http://travel.usnews.com/, with Myrtle Beach featured prominently.
Among the rankings, Myrtle Beach was included in the rankings of:
The travel destination rankings provide travelers with enhanced guidance on places to visit in the USA and Europe. They identify top vacation spots based on a methodology that combines the opinions of both experts and consumers. In short, they reflect how strongly a destination is recommended by a collection of published travel writers and U.S. News Travel website users.
Monday’s launch represents the 2011-2012 edition of the rankings, which will be updated annually. In total, 49 U.S. and 35 European destinations are ranked. Additional regions, including Mexico and the Caribbean, will receive official rankings later in the year.
“Planning a vacation can be enjoyable. But it can be difficult to choose the best spot to spend your precious time and money,” said Chad Smolinski, Vice President of Rankings and Reviews at U.S. News & World Report. “Our goal with the new rankings is to provide easy-to-use guidance based on what others have experienced in their own travels."
Additionally, U.S. News has identified Best Vacations award-winning destinations in the USA and Europe. The award winners have distinguished themselves as the highest ranking -- and therefore most recommended -- places to visit within our lists. The award winners for three ranking categories are provided below. The complete lists are published at http://travel.usnews.com/Rankings/.
