Pelicans Open 2009 Home Season April 9

Only five weeks 'til Opening Night for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, who just announced their slate of theme nights and special events and schedule of special appearances and weekly promotions for the 2009 season.

And as the Pelicans continue to get the word out through their community outreach endeavors - like the one pictured here at the Grand Strand Miracle League field in Myrtle Beach this week - they're also gearing up in the short-term for the team's Fan Fest set for this Saturday, March 7 at BB&T Coastal Field. There, the kids will enjoy an array of ballpark amusements, including a scavenger hunt and playing catch on the field. Hopefuls for singing the National Anthem for one of this season's games will also audition before a panel of celebrity judges.
