Plan Your Girls-Only Getaway Today!

OK, guys: keep coming to Myrtle Beach for your "mancation." This fall, you'll just have to make room for the ladies.

October on the South Strand features "Just the Girls: Coast & Cuisine in South Carolina" - a women's only weekend getaway featuring great food, big fun, and your favorite magazines. A full slate of activity is on tap:

  • Friday evening, Oct. 19, learn the "can't miss" secrets of pairing wine with seafood, from the editors of Coastal Living magazine.
  • Saturday morning, Oct. 20, Cottage Living magazine offers a crash course in classic American comfort food with its "Warm Your Soul" fall brunch.
  • Saturday night, Cooking Light magazine contributing editor and executive chef Billy Strynkowski gives his "Oh! What a Night!" cooking demonstration that will provide his best "behind the scenes" tips for cooking fast, healthy and tasty dinners. Best of all, you get to sample each savory creation as a sit-down meal - each with a special wine pairing to make the experience truly complete.
  • The weekend wraps up in style on Sunday morning, Oct. 21, with Southern Living travel editor/food critic Carolanne Griffith Roberts hosting a special "Savor the South" send-off breakfast, complete with plenty of girl talk, tips for better living, and a sneak peek behind the scenes of the host publication.

In between, you and the girls will have time to enjoy a round of golf at one of the South Strand's many award-winning courses. Of the wide variety and pure fun available at the Waccamaw Golf Trail courses, its much-anticipated newest entry - Founders Club of Pawleys Island - will be open for play this fall.

And, of course, there's the track once more selected by Golf For Women magazine as among the country's "Top 50 Courses for Women": the esteemed Willbrook Plantation (#31 for 2007-2008), which also boasts two of "The 100 Greatest Holes along the Grand Strand" according to The Sun News.

Lodging at Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort puts you in the heart of all the action, and provides the luxury of indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, a fitness center, day spa, Starbucks Coffee, golf, tennis, and stunning beaches.

Spots will fill up fast, so be sure to reserve yours today. In the meantime, we welcome your comments and suggestions that will help the ladies make their getaway experience truly complete!
