Reality Bits
Its reputation as a choice destination for myriad activities is well-established. As a family beach destination, golf vacationers’ delight and now rock ‘n’ roll lovers’ must-visit, Myrtle Beach has become a national hub of sorts for wide-ranging interests.
Some might say that the Grand Strand has also become “Reality Central.”
”Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” on ABC, “Passport to Great Weekends” on the Travel Channel, “House Hunters” on HGTV and “Road Trip: Myrtle Beach” on GOLF CHANNEL are just some of the national television shows that have featured the Myrtle Beach area or its residents in the past 18 months. And the hits keep on coming:
- This Tuesday, a Myrtle Beach woman appears on America’s favorite television game show, “Jeopardy!” Gail Sneyers, who works for Myrtle Beach Trips of Myrtle Beach as an administrative assistant, taped her appearance on the show in late April. The show airs 7:30 p.m. weekdays on WBTW-TV 13 and WECT-TV 6.
- Jessica King, a 23-year-old student at Coastal Carolina University and dance teacher at the Myrtle Beach School of Performing Arts, has advanced to the top 10 of the FOX TV hit summer series, “So You Think You Can Dance.” You can see how she fares this week when a two-hour episode airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. on WFXB-TV.

Myrtle Beach Area
We’ve been traveling to Myrtle Beach since I can remember. It’s always been our family vacation spot. I like going there in fall or winter when the crowds are gone. It’s peaceful but there’s still plenty to see and do with the kids. I hated to see the Pavilion go though - that was always my main attraction! Candice
It is a shame The Pavilion closed down but The Nostalgia Pavilion Park at Broadway at the Beach is a nice tribute.
