Register for “Leading Teams Through Change: Remember the Titans” Seminar

Leadership Grand Strand Alumni Education Series is presenting "Leading Teams Through Change: Remember the Titans" with Bill Parker of Bill Parker Associates, a leadership and team development firm located in Little River, S.C. The seminar will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 14 in the boardroom of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, 1200 N. Oak St.

Through the movie and true, inspiring story "Remember the Titans," Parker demonstrates how to lead teams through change successfully. The movie conveys to seminar participants how vitally important it is to meet the interpersonal needs (inclusion/control/caring) of team members in times of radical change. Participants are challenged to assess the change initiatives facing both Coach Boone and Coach Yoast using a two-page change planning template. An observation form is provided that permits participants to witness and discuss the impact and significance of interpersonal needs being met as teams progress through the development stages that lead to high performance. Finally, participants will take an interpersonal needs assessment to discover what new behaviors would make them more effective.

To register, go to ChamberAcademy.com. The seminar, which includes lunch, costs $40 for LGS alumni, $50 for chamber members and $75 for nonmembers. The deadline to register is Oct. 10.
