River Club Among Several Area Courses Unveiling New Greens

River Club in Pawleys Island re-opens Friday with the unveiling of its new Champion Bermuda greens - one of five golf courses along the Grand Strand reentering the local market in the coming weeks with revamped putting surfaces.

West Course at Myrtle Beach National, the Norman Course at Barefoot Resort & Golf and Lion's Paw at Ocean Ridge Plantation are also reopening in August, with Quail Creek Golf Club on the campus of Coastal Carolina University scheduled to reopen on Oct. 1.

The Champion Bermuda greens at River Club replace their former A-1 bentgrass surfaces. Some tee boxes were also refurbished and a few bunkers reconfigured to make them less punishing.
