SRO Ticket Availability, Special Concessions Package for AL Champs’ Visit to Myrtle Beach

Fans interested in witnessing the first game in Myrtle Beach history to involve a Major League Baseball team in person will need to act quickly as only several hundred standing room only tickets remain for the exhibition game between the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and Texas Rangers on March 29th (6:35 p.m.) at BB&T Coastal Field, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans’ Web site was reporting as of Wednesday evening.

These SRO tickets run $12 each and are on sale now at the BB&T Coastal Field Box Office, open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Fans may also purchase the remaining tickets for the exhibition game by calling the Pelicans Box Office at (843) 918-6000. Gates for the game will open at 4 p.m. to allow fans to watch batting practice for both teams.

In addition to tickets for admission, the Pelicans have created a special "All-You-Can-Eat" Buffet package for fans with game tickets. For only $20 each, ticket holders can feast on a buffet chicken quarters, hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, cole slaw, chips, cookies and soft drinks for the two-hour period from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. This buffet will be situated in the Robert Grissom Plaza inside BB&T Coastal Field on the third base end of the concessions concourse. Admission passes for the buffet will be limited to the first 250 and are also on sale at the Pelicans Ticket Office.

Coming off the first American League pennant in franchise history, the Rangers are opening their new partnership with the Pelicans with a bang with the exhibition game kicking off Myrtle Beach's first season in the Texas club's farm system. Many stars of the reigning AL champs are expected to be on-hand for this historic event at BB&T Coastal Field including 2010 American League Most Valuable Player Josh Hamilton and former Pelican and 2010 AL All-Star shortstop Elvis Andrus. The Chanticleers are into the swing of their 2011 campaign, looking to build off the best season in the school's baseball history during which they came within two Super Regional wins of a trip to Omaha and a berth in the 2010 College World Series.
