Taking “Family-Friendly” to a Whole New Level

You're here for the week, and in search of activities to keep the kids busy. Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, Myrtle Waves, Alligator Adventure and plenty of other Grand Strand amusements await, but your wallet has its limits.

What else can you provide them that won't break the bank?

Several in the family of Myrtle Beach Hotels resorts - including The Breakers Resort, The Caribbean Resort & Villas, Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort, Ocean Reef Resort and The Long Bay Resort - each offer an extensive, Monday-through-Friday slate of "Kids Club" activities geared for children ages 5-12. They're generally free of charge (though some do require a small, cash-only fee), and provide variety and fun under the supervision of Kids Club staff.

Depending on the day, your child can enjoy:

  • Face painting
  • Group games
  • Water games
  • Pool games
  • Arts & crafts
  • Sandcastle contests
  • Cool treats and tattoos by the pool
  • Movie & pizza nights
  • ... and much, much more.

Activities generally run during the heart of each weekday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the exception of "Movie & Pizza" nights that go from 5-8 p.m. A few important points to remember:

  • Any activity may be changed due to unforeseen circumstances
  • Children 5 and up may participate
  • All children should be dressed appropriately for activities
  • Children need to be dropped off and picked up promptly for each activity. It is not possible for Kids Club staff to supervise children before, between or after activities.
  • With the exception of "Movie & Pizza" nights, individual activities generally run between 30 and 90 minutes in length.

Starting this summer, kids and guests at the Caribbean also get the added bonus of a slew of new, just-opened pool features. A 200-foot lazy river, 48,000-gallon swimming pool, 750-square-foot children's splash deck and two large hot tubs have been added to a raised, covered deck area that will be enclosed during the winter months. Beyond the awning, the lounge deck provides a front-row, unobstructed view of the Atlantic. http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1118/540974212_2e04d983fd.jpg http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1094/540974224_df9b957a4e.jpg

Of course, these are just a few of the dozens of Myrtle Beach oceanfront resorts that provide family-friendly services and activities. Which resorts have been your family's favorites? Let us know!
