TPC Enters Marketing Agreement with the Myrtle Beach National Company

The Tournament Players Club of Myrtle Beach (TPC) announced recently that it has entered into a marketing agreement with The Myrtle Beach National Company, one of Myrtle Beach area’s oldest and largest golf course management companies.

Designed by acclaimed architect Tom Fazio, TPC opened in 1999 and hosted the Senior Tour Championship in 2000. In 2006, TPC was awarded five stars by Golf Digest in their “Places to Play” guide, the only course on the Grand Strand to receive the honor in the ranking’s 46-year history.

As of part of the agreement, Myrtle Beach National will include TPC in Myrtle Beach National’s extensive and exclusive programs including www.mbn.com, www.myrtlebeachgolf.com, and inclusion in special golf packages. TPC will continue to manage the 18-hole facility and clubhouse.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to market TPC of Myrtle Beach to golfers around the world,” said Chip Smith, owner, TPC of Myrtle Beach. “Myrtle Beach National is one of the industry leaders in golf marketing and this partnership allow us to still handle the management of TPC while they lead the marketing efforts.”

“We’re excited about this relationship with TPC Myrtle Beach as it allows us to expand our golf course ownership/management company,” said Jim Woodring, vice president of golf operations and marketing of Myrtle Beach National Company. “TPC was chosen as the 2005 South Carolina Golf Course of the Year and we’re excited to work with the TPC staff.”

The Myrtle Beach National Company now owns, manages and markets 14 ½ 18 holes of area golf courses on the Grand Strand: Aberdeen Country Club; King’s North at Myrtle Beach National, SouthCreek at Myrtle Beach National and the West Course at Myrtle Beach National; Waterway Hills Golf Club; Long Bay Golf Club; Litchfield Golf Club; River Club; Willbrook Plantation; Blackmoor Golf Club; Wachesaw Plantation East; and Wild Wing, which was added to the Myrtle Beach National family on December 3, 2009. Thirteen and a half of the Myrtle Beach National Company golf courses received four stars or higher in Golf Digest’s “2009-2010 Places to Play” guide.
