The new Freestyle Music Park is beginning to take shape as the park's new sign was erected last week, several high-energy shows have been unveiled and ticket specials, including free admission for military and emergency personnel through the end of the month, were announced.
The park is also offering a $10 discount for all North and South Carolina residents from its opening, May 23, through June 14.
"We are greatly anticipating opening over Memorial Day weekend and are proud to salute those who have served us with considerable sacrifice by offering them free admission to the park," said John Stine, director of marketing and sales for Freestyle Music Park. "In just one week, Freestyle Music Park will open for the 2009 season and will greet guests looking for a day of full volume family fun."
From May 23 through the end of the month, all active military, Coast Guard, firefighters, police and emergency medical technicians will be admitted free with valid identification. Opening weekend will feature giveaways and promotions from area Grand Strand businesses and area radio stations will have collection drives to benefit the U.S. military. Park guests can bring in non-perishable food items, puzzle books, paper goods and prepaid phone cards to donate.
Also announced last Friday was the park's first new show, Flip 5 Live - a dancing, singing and tumbling show to be featured in its children's section of the park "Kids in America." The interactive show encourages guests to participate by dancing and singing along to pop-rock songs performed by the Flip 5 cast.
Three additional shows, including "CSI: Live!", "Adrenaline Rush" and "Ice Cold Country", have since been unveiled as well. All shows are included with the price of park admission.
The park's hours of operation will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on opening weekend. From May 26 through June 5, the park will be open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and tickets will be $24.95 for adults and $19.95 for children.
