This weekend is ripe with music for every taste palate, starting today with a performance by Cowboy Mouth at the Summer Party in the Street concert series at Broadway at the Beach’s Celebrity Square. And if you loved the ‘90’s, you’re sure to enjoy alt-rock heavyweights Everclear, performing Saturday in the same spot. These concerts will cost you, albeit not much considering the talent. But if you want something free, the Boathouse continues its summer concert series this Sunday with the venerable dirt-and-gritty David Allan Coe in attendance.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, you can kiss singer-songwriters goodbye with a little visit to the House of Blues Friday. 50 Cent makes an appearance, and provided no one tries to scoop him off a sidewalk and put him in their pocket, he will be performing some of his highly popular hip hop for your listening pleasure. And as always, the Hot Summer Nights series continues throughout the summer in downtown Myrtle Beach at Plyler Park and the Boardwalk, featuring music, fireworks, and activities on a rotating schedule seven nights a week until mid-August.
Finally, the Man in the Mirror show makes a reprise, this time at the Palace Theatre. The multimedia show includes choreography and live performances by Mulatto as they back up a tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Anybody getting misty about the year anniversary of MJ’s death can indulge in daily performances through July 22nd. Visit www.palacetheatremyrtlebeach.com for details.
If you’re more of a doer than a seer, get out and participate in one of the many golf tournaments teeing people off this weekend. Hard Rock is sponsoring a charity event Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Myrtlewood Golf Club. Call (843) 946-0007 ext. 208 to find out how to sign up. Proceeds go to the V Foundation for Cancer Research. Helping Hand is also sponsoring an event at the Legends’ Heathland course from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call (843) 448-8451 for details. Finally, the Coast of Carolina Parrothead Club is holding a charity golf event at River Oaks. Checking out www.cofcphc.com will tell you more.
If you still can’t find anything to do, you will have to look inward to find out why.
Glad I’ve fainlly found something I agree with!
