Weekend Outlook: Narnia at The Palace Theatre

Weekend Outlook: Narnia at The Palace Theatre

As part of its Summer Series, The Palace Theatre in Myrtle Beach presents “Narnia” six days a week through Aug. 21. This is a great opportunity to catch a new family show to wrap up your Grand Strand summer vacation – and help the kids forget (at least for the moment!) that back-to-school time is just around the corner.

”Narnia” is based on C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe Book by Jules Tasca, and tells the story of four schoolchildren who unexpectedly plunge through a magical wardrobe into a glistening forest kingdom of perpetual winter. The treacherous White Witch who presides over this ominous Arctic landscape lures Edmund, the most emotionally insecure of the four, into her clutches with sweets. His rescue, supervised by the benevolent, golden-maned Lion King, Aslan, who has returned after a long absence to reclaim the kingdom as his own, becomes an epic struggle between good and evil.

This weekend, you can catch this show on Friday morning at 10 a.m., and Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. Through Aug. 21, shows will continue to run Mondays through Fridays at 10 a.m., and Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 1 p.m.

Tickets are $15 apiece for adults (plus tax), and $12 each for children. For more information on this show and the entire Summer Series, visit The Palace Theatre’s Web site.
