Weiss, Moosa Win 2011 Junior Golf Shootout

Jon Weiss, 18, of Sumter, SC, and Madison Moosa, 13, of Charlotte, NC, won the boys' and girls' overall divisions, respectively, in the Eighth Annual Junior Golf Shootout held April 22-23, 2010 at South Creek and West Course at Myrtle Beach National.

Weiss (141) beat Nick Eberhardt, 16, of Fort Mill, SC and Jonathan Hardee, 14, of Greer, SC by three strokes, while Moosa (147) finished eight strokes ahead of second-place finisher Shelby Osiecki, 16, of New Bern, NC.

The 2011 Junior Golf Shootout featured 96 golfers from 7 states, representing one of the largest fields in tournament history. Junior players from Georgia, New York, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and South Carolina competed in the two-day event, which is contested each year during Easter Week.
