Large & In Charge: Charlie Rymer Bringing Up the Rear With Inaugural, End-of-year Golf Invitational

ESPN personality Charlie Rymer will bring the inaugural Fa’Tass Invitational to the Myrtle Beach area, November 29 – December 2, 2007, to help launch his new Fa’Tass Sporting Apparel line. Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday will host the two-day event along with co-sponsors PGA TOUR Superstore, Dr. Pepper and Budweiser.

The Invitational will be held at the Thistle Golf Club and The Dye Club at Barefoot Resort & Golf with all golfers flighted by handicap and weight. Accommodations are scheduled at the beachfront Royale Towers at Kingston Plantation. The entry fee is $995 per person and includes three rounds of golf, three nights of accommodations, Thursday and Friday night dinner receptions, breakfast each morning, lunch at the course, Fa’Tass apparel and an awards luau on Saturday night. All participants are asked to bring a new toy that will be donated to the Myrtle Beach Toys for Tots campaign with a portion of the tournament proceeds to be donated to the charity.

Rymer started Fa’Tass Sporting Apparel in 2007 with the concept that there is a large percentage of the United States population that is being neglected by the apparel industry, especially in the golf world. Fa’Tass will target men who wear XL, XXL and XXXL, want quality, well-fitted stylish shirts, pants, shorts, hats and outer wear and are tired of buying apparel only at big and tall stores.

“I’ve been going to Myrtle Beach for golf and vacations since I was young and knew that Myrtle Beach would be the perfect place to launch our new apparel line,” said Rymer. “The Fa’Tass brand is designed to be fun and Myrtle Beach is well-known around the world as the place to go for fun. We hope to have hundreds of participants in the inaugural Fa’Tass Invitational and attract more golfers in coming years. And don’t think you have to be a normal-size person like me to participate, little people are welcome too. Deep down, everybody wants to be a Fa’Tass.”

Interested golfers should visit Fa-Tass.com to register for the tournament or download the PDF registration form and enter by mail.
