Myrtle Beach Bands Showcased at Fall Benefit Bash
We’ve devoted plenty of space here at The Beach Blog to high profile, visiting music acts who’ve performed at the major Grand Strand venues. Now, it’s high time we showed some love to our local performing artists – especially since so many of them are coming together next week to do the same for some folks who really need it.
Four Myrtle Beach bands – Southern Blue, FliCK iT, SAVAS and Sqwearl – join several other regionally based groups on Saturday, Nov. 17 for the “Fall Benefit Bash” at Carolina Entertainment Complex. Proceeds from the all-day concert will benefit the families of the victims of the recent Ocean Isle Beach fire, as well as victims of the Southern California wildfires.
For only $10 – or $7 with a band voucher that you can print from Club TNT’s Web site - you can enjoy some great music all day and night. Here’s a sampling:
- Southern Blue, 12:30 p.m. - “With All My Heart” is the most-played track on its MySpace page.
- Sqwearl, 5:45 p.m. - “Soul to Love Somehow” is getting lots of attention on the band’s MySpace page.
- FLiCK iT, 7:25 p.m. - “Back Home” will knock you flat on your keister.
The evening wraps up strong with regional acts Suhgarim (the self-proclaimed “love child of Queensryche, MegaDeth and Heart”) at 8:50 p.m.; Prologic13 at 10:15 p.m., featuring the dynamic vocal range of frontment Kebo and Benjamin; and Sent by Ravens at 11 p.m. (Check out “Burning by Night”). When it’s all said and done, a wide range of musical genres (Pop, Southern Rock, Country, Heavy Metal) will have been covered.
Direct Relief International, a Santa Barbara, California-based charity, will handle disbursement of all donations to victims. The show is presented by Slammers “The Rok Bar”.
