Myrtle Beach Pics of the Week

Joey Nonya of Newport News, Va. likes to process photos using “the Orton Effect,” named for Vancouver Island's Michael Orton. The effect is achieved by sandwiching a sharp image with a duplicate that is deliberately blurred or softened. The overall result is often characterized as a dreamscape, diffusion or softening glow.

This summer, Myrtle Beach was the subject of several of Nonya’s shutterbug projects, which he then posted to Flickr for the rest of the world to enjoy. Check these out, and click on each picture to view it in the larger format and experience the full effect.
