Rich Taylor Making Splash With Myrtle Beach Maritime Videos

Two weeks ago, when we showcased pictures and information on Grand Strand scuba diving activities, little did we know that one of the photographers, Rich Taylor, was also an accomplished videographer. For all his stunning still photography, Taylor has also made YouTube his platform for bringing out the action elements of his crew’s excursions.

Taylor, a 37-year-old teacher and underwater documentary video maker, has made his online video presence known in a hurry. In five weeks’ time, he’s posted 22 videos showcasing a series of fishing excursions and scuba dives – several of which were shot along the Grand Strand shores. They include:

With 250 years as a working seaport, it is fitting that Georgetown sets the scene for such a spectacular display of nautical craftsmanship. On October 20 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Annual Georgetown Wooden Boat Show will feature an estimated 100 classic wooden boats alongside the boardwalk and Front Street. Onlookers can leisurely peruse and talk with the craftsmen, owners and manufacturers who are responsible for creating these amazing vessels.

The Boaters TV Offers Fast-Growing Video Podcast

Boating enthusiasts in Myrtle Beach, up and down the coast and around the country now have a new podcast resource that’s quickly gaining popularity and momentum.

The Boaters TV, a thrice-weekly podcast covering boating news and features, was viewed in excess of 50,000 times in the two months since the first episode was released on June 18, quickly establishing itself as the top video podcast for boat owners and enthusiasts in the United States.

The podcast is syndicated through other popular online video content aggregators such as YouTube, DailyMotion, and Yahoo Video. It’s also distributed through the iTunes Store's free podcast download center. Recent episodes have covered the current debate over mandatory boater education and licensing, the EPA's Recreational Boating Act, and popular boating destinations such as Sea Ray's Aquapalooza celebration.
